Description

From the station, you walk via the Hoekelum estate to the nature friends' house De Bosbeek. You pass several prehistoric burial mounds. The route follows the stream valley of the winding Molenbeek. The stream was dug to provide energy for watermills.

Through the forests of the Oranje Nassau's Oord estate, you walk to the Wageningse Berg with beautiful views over the Rhine and the Betuwe. The famous botanical garden 'Belmonte' is a beautiful finale. Here you will see magnificent magnolias and rhododendrons.

Route

After 12 km, you can walk to bus stop Begraafplaats, Wageningen. On weekdays, a local bus departs from here to Wolfheze (line 590) and to Renkum (line 589). Please note that this bus does not run on Saturdays and Sundays. Check current departure times in the NS app or in the Reisplanner on NS.nl (including bus times).

Please note: due to extensive renovations of the station area, the 'old' route north of the railway is no longer accessible. You now walk south of the railway over Landgoed Hoekelum. Just past the A12, you pick up the existing route. NS-Belmonte has therefore become 2 km longer (total 18 km).
