Den Haag

During this Den Haag walk, there is an incredible amount to see and experience for both young and old, city and nature lovers alike. And what could be better than to dip your feet in a refreshing sea and enjoy the beach at the end of the walk? A beautiful route with a lot of variety: you walk straight through chic Den Haag to the Scheveningen coast.

From the station, you are within a few minutes in the historic city center with the Binnenhof, the Torentje, and the Hofvijver. Because the Binnenhof is being renovated until mid-2027, the route has been slightly diverted. You now walk north of the Hofvijver instead of straight across the Binnenhof. From the shell path, lined on both sides by old, tall trees, you look out over the pond.

For the first 8 km, you can shorten the route at various places by taking the tram, for example, at the Vredespaleis. You can break off the long route by taking bus line 90 at the intersection Leidsestraatweg-Waalsdorperlaan (stop Louwman Museum) (daily 1x per hour; on Mon-Fri also Q-liner 385 2x per hour). From the Bezuidenhoutseweg, buses 43 and 44 go to the station (4x per hour). Check current departure times in the NS app or in the Reisplanner on NS.nl (also bus and tram times).
