This is a fun, varied hiking route through forest and dunes. You will encounter many well-known buildings and places. How about Huis Ten Bosch Palace, the beautiful Clingendael estate, and the famous Waalsdorpervlakte? If you want to know more about the dunes, you'll find a visitor center at Meijendel farm.

Description
You step off the train at Den Haag Centraal directly into the Haagse Bos. Past Huis Ten Bosch Palace, you then walk through the beautiful Clingendael estate out of the city. Via the well-known Waalsdorpervlakte, the route continues through the Meijendel dunes. These dunes are a water catchment area for Den Haag and Leiden, but are also very valuable as a nature reserve. Here you leave the Hollands Kustpad, part of the Dutch coastal route, and walk through the dunes to Wassenaar.

You'll find a visitor center at Meijendel farm. Free admission and open Tuesday to Sunday.
