Geldrop → Heeze
Via the small river De Kleine Dommel you walk out of Geldrop and enter a beautiful nature reserve. The stream valley of the Kleine Dommel gradually transitions into the Strabrechtse Heide here. In other words: 'the great silent heath'. At the end, the hiking route takes you past Heeze Castle.

Description
The route goes through the center of Geldrop and then quickly follows the river De Kleine Dommel out of the village. You enter a beautiful continuous nature reserve. The stream valley of the Kleine Dommel gradually transitions into the Strabrechtse Heide here.
You will mainly walk on unpaved and semi-paved paths. Before you enter the great silent heath, you can visit the heath garden of Staatsbosbeheer, with information about the plants you will encounter along the way. With the Pelgrimspad you walk past Heeze Castle back to the station.

Route
The Strabrechtse Heide hiking route is 13 or 17 km long and follows the Brabants Vennenpad (Regional Path 5, a 233 km long route through the Kempen and the Meierij).
